Advocacy group Masked Truth is calling for immediate answers and accountability from local social services following the tragic death of a two-year-old girl, whose parents have been arrested on suspicion of her murder.

"This is not just a heartbreaking case, it is a catastrophic failure of the systems designed to protect our most vulnerable," said a spokesperson for Masked Truth. "We want to know: who knew what, and when? And most importantly, what was, or wasn’t, done to protect this child?"

Masked Truth is demanding that the social services department involved disclose whether the child or her family were previously known to authorities, and if so, what safeguarding steps were taken. The group is also calling for a full and transparent investigation into the role, or absence, of child protection services in the lead-up to the child’s death.

"We understand there are legal limitations, especially during an active criminal investigation," the spokesperson added. "But the public deserves transparency, and other children deserve better protections moving forward."

The group is urging the local authority to conduct an independent serious case review, make its findings public, and commit to immediate reforms where failures are identified.

"This little girl mattered. Her life had value. Her death must not be met with silence."

Members of Masked Truth will continue to advocate on behalf of children who are unheard, unseen, and unprotected. The organization is asking members of the public to support calls for accountability and reform by contacting their local representatives and demanding stronger oversight of social care systems.
